Selling your house is a multi-step process that can take weeks, if not months. From the prepping and staging to showings and all that closing paperwork. But the biggest factor is how long your house will sit on the market.
The average time it takes to sell a house in Texas in 2021 is 91 – 101 days, that is 56 days to get an offer and an additional 35-45 days to close. This is approximately 2.2%faster than the national average. Keep in mind though that these are annual averages and the numbers will vary by month and/or season.
How quickly will your home sell? The answer depends on how well your home is priced, where it’s located, what condition it’s in and how strong your local market is, among other factors.
If you price your home to high, have a lot of competition, or it is in need of repairs then the amount of time on the market can be significantly greater.
Most buyers looking at houses through their realtor are not investors, they are individuals looking to buy their next family home. They want something priced right and move in ready. Taking the time to do repairs and make a great first impression with your home can make the difference between several days to several months sitting on the market.
